Obituary of Carolyn Beth Blades

Carolyn Beth "Betty" Blades Age 79, Meisners Section, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 26, 2016 with her loving children by her side. Born in Meisners Section, she was a daughter of the late Foard Robar Sr., and Nellie Mae (Deal) Robar. During Betty’s working years, she was employed with New Germany Fruit Company and later with Suttles and Seawinds as a seamstress where she worked for many years; she also worked as a mail delivery driver for Canada Post, New Germany. Betty was a lifelong member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany where she was a former member of choir, ACW and altar guild and served many years as the Sunday School superintendent; she was always willing to help and volunteer her time with the church in so many ways, wherever it was needed. Betty was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister to her children, Cathy (Maynard) Wilson, Beth (Michael) Deamond and Garth (Linda) Blades, all of Meisners Section; her grandchildren, Megan, Mallory and Tyler and her brother, Foard (Catherine) Robar, Meisners Section; she also had many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Robert Blades; two sisters in infancy. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 7 in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, with Rev. Mellanie Cohoon officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of choice. We would like to thank Dr. Thibodeau, Dr. Abriel, Noleen, the VON and also Paulette DeLong for the care they have given to our mother during her illness.
