Obituary of Minnie Rachel Pineo

Minnie Rachel Pineo It is with profound love and sadness that we announce the gentle passing of our wonderful 98 year old mother and best friend, Minnie Rachel Pineo surrounded with her loving family on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Petites, NL, to Edward and Mary Mauger. She was one of 12 children. Surviving is her last remaining sibling, Irene Gentmantel, Montreal, QC.; She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Pineo; step sons, Robert and Ralph. She resided in the Riverside Apartments in New Germany for the past 20 years where she met many wonderful friends. She also enjoyed her many friends of the Rosedale New Horizons Club of which she was a member and best friends Bill and Mary Alexander. She loved a good game of cards and bingo. She will be dearly missed. She leaves behind to mourn, the most wonderful memories of her four children, son, Harry and wife Mary of Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Paul (Michelle), great grandchildren, Lindsay, Drew and Heidi all of Ottawa, Robert (Julie), great grandchildren, Alex and Lauren all of Peterborough; Allan (Carrie), great grandchildren Coady, Ryan and Callie all of Tantallon; daughter, Barbara and husband Terry Wambolt of Truro, grandchildren, Tracey (Paul) Smith of Dartmouth, great grandchildren, Daniel, BC, Elayne of Dartmouth, Cindy (Peter) Zandvoort, great grandchildren, Erik and Carter all of Carlise, Pennsylvania; Lisa (Trevor) Smith, Truro; daughter, Sandra and husband John Gosling of Midville Branch, grandchildren, Natalie Lewis, great grandchildren, Abigail and Justin all of North Kingston, Nicole Gosling (Kris Wile), great grandchildren, Taya and Kyla of Pinehurst; grandson, John (Samara) Gosling of Midville Branch, great grandchildren, Elijah, Elianna, Grayson; son, John and wife Paulette Pineo of Hebbville, grandson, Scott of Halifax and granddaughter, Rachael of Hebbville; granddaughter, Cherra (Rob) Gillis, great grandchildren, Morgan, Abigail and Jack, all of Ottawa, grandson, Casey Sullivan, great grandchildren, Shamus and Lyam all of Saskatoon. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. No flowers please, donations may be made to New Germany and Area Food Bank through the funeral home or a charity of choice. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the spring.
