Obituary of Joan Shirley Getson

Joan Shirley Getson Age 83, Oak Hill, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the ALC unit of Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Helen McIntyre. During her working years, she was an telephone operator for Maritime Tel & Tel. Surviving are her husband, Donald Edward Getson; daughter, Sandra Getson, Bridgewater; brother, Gerald McIntyre, Boysdale. Visitation 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, February 8 in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel and where funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, February 9. Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Interment to follow in Newcombville Cemetery, Newcombville. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
