Obituary of Melba Jean Veinot

Melba Jean Veinot Bridgewater, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the age of 96. Born in Broad Cove, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Udaville (Smith) Reinhardt. She was a member of Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere. She was a young wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to make quilts, knitting, going to dances and parties, she also enjoyed weekends at the cottage at Molega Lake. She is survived by sons, David (Valerie) Hayward, Bridgewater; Kelly Hayward (Heather), Bridgewater; Korie (Tenisha), Petite Riviere; great-granddaughter, Mya Jean Hayward, Petite Riviere; Wayne (Connie) Hayward, Dartmouth; daughter in law, Emilie Hayward, Lower Branch; step daughters, Gail Veinot, PEI; Sharon (Donnie) Selig, Hammonds Plains; Carolyn (Edward) Llewelyn, Middlewood; sister, Adele Herman, Broad Cove; 7 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Kelly Hayward; son, Earle Hayward; daughter, Marie Hayward; granddaughter, Cara Wyman, son in law, Donnie Wyman; second husband, Eric Veinot; brother and wife, Homer, Marguerite Reinhardt; niece, Diana Wade. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m., Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, with Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Flowers accepted, donations may be made in Melba’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
