Obituary of Michael LeFave

Michael A L LeFave, 33, passed away on August 23, 2017 at South Shore Regional Hospital with his mother by his side.  Born July 16, 1984 in Bridgewater, Michael was the son of Nancy Bourque and Louis LeFave.  Michael is survived by his brother Matthew (Margaret), nephew Maximus Michael and large extended family of loving cousins, aunts and uncles.Predeceased by his loving companion & guide dog, Melon.

Michael graduated from Bridgewater Junior/Senior High School in 2003.  He attended St. Mary’s University where he studied International Development Studies until his health caused him to rethink his plans.

Michael fought a hard and courageous battle against a foe named Alstrom Syndrome.  Never afraid of a challenge, Michael lived his life the way he wanted it to be lived.  He travelled alone to Ontario and to Nevada.  He met and made many life-long friends via the internet.  His intelligence shone through his technological savvy, his poetry, his unending memory and capability to recall all sports statistics, and his love of games such as Jeopardy.  He loved talking on the phone with his family and friends for hours at a time and well into the night.  He adored all sports.  In the last few years, Michael felt whole and free while riding horses at the Therapeutic Hinchinbrook Farm Society.  His love of his guide dogs and the horses gave him joy beyond measure.

A memorial service will be held at New Life Christian Church in Bridgewater on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow.  No flowers by request of family.  Donations to Alstrom Syndrome International Society of Canada or Hinchinbrook Farm Society.
