Obituary of Rhoda Crowe

Rhoda Mae Crowe Of Bridgewater, N.S., 101. The death of Rhoda Mae Crowe occurred in Harbour View Haven, Home for Special Care, Lunenburg as a result of Pneumonia on August 27, 2004 with staff by her side. Born April 25, 1903 in North Brookfield, Queens County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Myra (Fancy) Crowe. Before moving to Bridgewater, she lived in the Valley and Truro. For about 3 months short of 35 years she was Deputy Clerk and Deputy Prothonotary of the Supreme Court of N.S. She was a long-time member of the Bridgewater United Baptist Church, the Evelyn Kenney Missionary Society and Group IV, a pianist and long-time member of Atlantic Rebekah Lodge #52, receiving her 60 year Jewel in 1999 as well as pianist for the Salvation Army for many years (evening services). Surviving are cousins, Elsie Rains, Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage and Donald Fancy, Chelsea; Jack Fancy, New Brunswick; four others in the U.S.; grand nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and from where funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, Rev Norman Hovland officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bridgewater United Baptist Church, South Shore Regional Hospital or the charity of your choice.
