Obituary of Wallace McCarthy

Wallace Whitfield McCarthy 78, Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg Co., passed away March 20, 2004, at the Queens Manor, Liverpool. Born in Conquerall Mills, he was a son of the late John and Beulah (Naugler) McCarthy. He was employed for numerous years with Acadia Construction and the Department of Transportation, as well as working in the woods. He had a great passion and was well known for making Ox yokes. In later years, he developed a great friendship with his great nephews and nieces. Surviving are his brother, Stanley, Conquerall Mills; sister, Beatrice Bolivar, Dartmouth; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen; brothers, Merle, George, Gordon, Lloyd; sister, Myrtle. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and from where funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in the Ascension Lutheran Church Cemetery, Conquerall Mills. A reception will be held following the burial in the Conquerall Mills Community Hall. Family flowers only.
