Obituary of Genesta Jean Emma Teale

TEALE, Genesta “Jean” Emma - age 87, Halifax, formerly of Broad Cove died October 28, 2021, in Arbourstone Enhanced Care, Purcell’s Cove. Born in Broad Cove on August 6, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Pearl (Croft) Teel.

She emigrated to the United States in July 1954 and lived and worked there until 1977. She then moved back to Halifax and worked for the Federal Government of Canada. Then in the 1980’s she went on to work for Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. She was a member of St. Matthew's United Church in Halifax for many years.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Blanche Teal on September 28, 2021.

A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Broad Cove. Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
