Obituary of Jacqueline Madeline Fougere
Fougere, Jacqueline Madeline – We are very sad to announce the passing of Jackie on January 29, 2025, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was a patient at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater and passed away with daughter, Tammy by her side.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Harold Gorman and Doris Benson; brothers, Bernie and Joe, and baby David Gorman. She is survived by her partner of many years, Floyd Meisner; daughter, Tammy (Harvey Jr.) Carver; son, Junior Stephen (Lisa) Fougere; brother, Edward (Dale) Gorman; sisters, Amy Bona and Starr Gorman; stepsisters, Jenn Walsh, Phyllis Lomond; grandsons, Tytan and Nathan Fougere; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Dominic.
Jackie worked in the laundry room at White Point Beach Resort for many years, until her aneurysm in September 2011.She was very proud of making the beds without a wrinkle and how to fold sheets – a skill she passed on to her daughter, Tammy. She also loved crafting with Tammy, and her sister, Amy.
Her other passion was music. She loved playing the organ, even if it was with just one hand, and enjoyed playing at the music jams and in her apartment building. She moved from Eastern Passage to Pineview apartments in Bridgewater exactly one year ago, and was loved by each of them, with the neighbours always checking on her, they were very helpful. Many thanks to nurse Amy for her checks on her and our many talks. Thanks to the tenants of Pineview Apartments. Special thanks to the emergency department at South Shore Regional Hospital, palliative care nurse, Louise, and the third-floor nurses’ station on the surgery floor that cared for my mom. She had awesome care.
Due to weather concerns, a celebration of life for Jackie will be held in the middle or end of April. We would love for all to join us in remembering Jackie. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
