Dear Karen, Graham, Gordon and family,
I was so saddened to hear of your father's passing. Your mom and dad were very good to me when we were growing up. Karen, I have so many fond memories of conversations with your dad about art whenever I came over to your place to hang out with you. He always showed such an interest in my painting. Of course, I remember your mom fondly too and her passion for music. What a pianist! Your parents were both such great supporters of music in our community. I saw your dad present the Maureen Hopkins Rose Bowl for Outstanding Pianist every year at the Music festival. Then, I taught Rachel and often saw your Don cheering her on at various school events. Your mom, and you all, meant everything to him. Whenever I would run into him in town, he greeted me with a warm hug and chat. Your dad was kind, authentic and generous. Both your parents have left a huge impact on this community. I am so very sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all at this time.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Don's passing. Don and my mother, Dale, both experienced the loss of their spouses around the same time, and it was heartening to see them support each other and build a strong friendship over the years. Through this bond, we had the pleasure of getting to know Don. We will always cherish his dry wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Our condolences,
Paul Wentzell and Shelley Smith

We were sorry to see Don Hopkins' obituary. It was nice to see that he was credited with serving on so many committees at Bridgewater United Church. In a real sense, Bridgewater United Church is his monument, built by Acadia Construction in 1974. Don was justifiably proud of the sanctuary. It was an honour to know him. May he rest in peace. I am at a loss for words and we are both saddened by the news of Don's passing.
He was a special person and one I always enjoyed having a conversation with.
I went to visit Don a short time ago and it was an enjoyable time. I didn't realize it would be my last visit.
Don was such a fine gentleman. During our visits he always talked about his children and his grandchildren and kept us up to date on their adventures. He was so proud of them.
We saw Don often because there was always the weekly bridge games that continued for close to five decades.
He will be missed and always remembered.
Our sympathy and condolences to the Hopkins children and grandchildren. This is a sad time.
