John was a big man in so many ways. Tall and handsome with an accent unique to Lunenburg County (his home of which he was rightly proud), but more importantly he had a big heart and love for his family and friends, a subtle and big sense of humour, a big endurance for pain, and a big understanding of anything to do with construction, a knowledge he freely shared with anyone who asked. The world was a better place for John being in it. Our sincere sympathy goes out to Myrna, Jayne and Peter as they process this big loss.

Dear Myrna and family
I am so sorry for your loss. John has fought a difficult battle these last few years. I will always remember John for his quick wit, sense of humor and his willingness to always help those in need. The things he made with his amazing carpentry skills were works of wonder. He will be sadly missed by friends and neighbors and especially by his church family. May your warm memories help you through these sad times.

I have a very fond memory of John. In the late 1950's, the school pupils from Dayspring attended New Germany Rural High School. John wasone of them. In one class, John taught me how to crack my knuckles. Our teacher was not impressed. I have always had fond thoughts of
that day. My sincere sympathy to John's family. He certainly had an impressive life.

Dear Myrna and family. My sincere condolences on the loss of your dear John. I remember growing up in Dayspring with my brother Les and the rest of our Dayspring group. Skating on the pond and cove and playing baseball on Miller point. We always found something to do. It was a wonderful time with great friends. Please give my deepest sympathy to John’s brothers and sisters as well.
Sincerely

Myrna, Jayne, Peter and family. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of John.
John was a wonderful person always kind, helpful, cheerful ,pleasant and always a gentleman. He was a master carpenter but had such great knowledge in other areas such as machinery ,tools and other professions. I like many others tapped into his vast knowledge on many projects and he was always willing to freely give his help in any way he could. He was a master at producing wooden machines of all types; we have one of his tractor trailer log trucks which holds a special place on our mantle. We like many others will very much miss him but he will be fondly remembered. A person like John is a pillar of society and an example to others how we all should be. Let your wonderful memories of him console you at this time of loss.

John was a warm, kind, extremely intelligent brother and brother in law to Wayne and I. I've seen so many comments about his talent with building things and I took this picture to show off his work. We treasure this and the fact he shared it with us.
We have so many family photos with John and in every one he has that same smile, a smile we loved and will dearly miss.

John was such a great neighbour. We willingly shared his knowledge of carpentry and home repair and could always be depended upon to be our "Project Manager" whenever work was being done at the house. He had a keen eye and could tell you when a corner wasn't plump or the thickness of a board wasn't quite right. All without the need for a level or measuring tape. Just an amazing talent!! Quick with a laugh or a smile he was a pleasure to be around. We will miss him terribly in the neighbourhood. Steve and Sue

Dear Myrna, Jayne, Peter and Family.
Words of sympathy can not cover the feelings, as we deeply feel the loss of John. A cousin and true and special friend whom we cherished and admired. John was a memorable gentleman. A specialist in all the tasks or crafts he ever created, especially with wood working. He was a pillar in this circle of family, friends, and neighbours but with all the many beautiful memories, he will be forever missed but always remembered.
May God bless us all.
Love,
Joyce & Ozzie

He will be greatly missed. Mike loved to call him whenever he had a question about woodworking or mechanical issues. Mike worked for him at Truefoam for many, many years. We were constantly astounded at his sharp thinking. Mike remembers him designing equipment literally on a napkin and building it to make his employees life a little better. You were very loved Uncle John xoxo
