To Lucy’s family,
We are sorry to hear about Lucy’s passing. We’ll miss seeing her on our visits, especially in the breezeway and at her dining table. Lucy always looked beautiful.
As I was leaving after lunch on New Year’s Day, a few were having a wee nap by the windows but Lucy was awake. I said “Happy New Year, Lucy” as I passed by. After a second she said “And a Happy New Year to you too.” Well, it stopped me in my tracks—I thanked Lucy and told her she made my day. Whenever I think of Lucy, I’ll remember this moment.
