Along with her parents and step-father, she is now reunited with her first husband, Roger Selig and second husband, Bruce Bailey; son, Barry Selig; brothers, Leonard Zwicker, Richard Zwicker, Franklin Zwicker; and sister, Anne Zwicker.
Lucy was a loving mother, Nana, a devoted wife, daughter and sister. She worked tirelessly looking after her family and the unconditional love and support she showed everyday were her amazing gifts to us all. She lived a life filled with both family & friends which meant everything in the world to her. She treated everyone with kindness, she was vibrant, generous, and empathetic and had the natural ability to bring "light" into the lives around her. Mom’s laughter was infectious, and her warm hugs were unlimited, she was such a gentle soul. There is a never-ending list of reasons we will miss this kind, genuine and beautiful person but that twinkle in her eye and permanent smile will always be remembered.
Sharing time with her family & friends was such a joyful thing for Mom, whether they were dancing, playing cards or camping as long as they were spending time together. She loved to travel, whether it was a cruise, or the Caribbean and road trips became a regular event for her and Bruce. When at home she enjoyed her time gardening, walking, visiting neighbours and shopping. Once her children were grown, she was employed by Avon Canada for 25 years where she blossomed with her charming personality and of course having her own personal chauffeur (Bruce) was a bonus. In addition to that, Mom worked as a Nanny for 8 years, loving and caring for other children as much as she did her own. Mom also was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater followed by St John’s United Church, Middle LaHave where you would find her and Bruce most Sunday’s and at special events.
In Mom’s later years as her dementia progressed, Bruce continued to be by her side and cared for her at home until she needed additional care, at which time she resided at Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg where Bruce faithfully visited daily. Mom was then moved to Hillside Pines Home for Special Care until her recent passing.
Celebration of Life service & reception will be held Saturday, March 22nd 12-2pm, at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, 35 York St. with Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
