Obituary of Audrey Louise Joudrey

JOUDREY, Audrey Louise (Selig) – Age 90, of New Germany, formerly of Bridgewater. It’s with great love and deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, Audrey Joudrey, on March 18th, 2025, at Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. She was the daughter of the late Gladys Mae (Dorey) Selig and Louis Randal Selig.

Besides her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her husband, John A. Joudrey; daughter, Gail Eisner; siblings, Ruth Conrad, Dougie Selig, Edith Tanner, John Selig, James Selig, Harriette Farmer, Wayne Selig and Jeanette Dorey.

Audrey is lovingly remembered by her children, Ralph (Kim) Joudrey, Bridgewater, Sharon (Donnie) Bruhm, Conquerall Bank, John “Butch” (Susan) Joudrey, Midville Branch and Wendy (Shane) Maughan, Bridgewater. She is also survived by her siblings, Chummy Selig, Arnie Selig, Debby (John) Beck, Charlotte Selig, Kitty (Allen) Lake, and Janice (Cedric) Ernst.

Also left to mourn her passing are grandchildren, Lisa Grondin, Michelle Joudrey, Jay Joudrey, Matthew Joudrey, Adam Joudrey, Shannon Bruhm, Shawn Bruhm, Tracey Eisner, Tara Eisner, Dennis Joudrey, Dr. Scott Joudrey, Evan Maughan and Ellen Maughan, as well as 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.

Mom loved her family and her dogs. I’m not sure which she loved more. She had many friends. She enjoyed skating, going to yard sales and dancing. She loved getting dressed up and going to dances, which she did most weekends until she was into her early 80’s. 

A special thanks to Dr. Reza Mehrpooya who helped and enabled Mom to stay at home for an extra year. Also, thanks to Dr. Pugh, and all the wonderful nurses, other staff, and care workers at Rosedale Nursing Home for the care and love you have given to Audrey over the past 3 years.  She made many friends at the home, both residents and staff. 

Audrey’s life will be celebrated with a Family and Friends gathering at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York St., Bridgewater, on Friday March 28th , from 6 PM - 8 PM. No officiant. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rosedale Home for Special Care in New Germany or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
