Obituary of Neil Joseph Theriault

THERIAULT, Neil Joseph – 87, of Mahone Bay, died March 30, 2025, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Neil was born on August 9, 1937, in Digby, NS., to parents Thomas and Leola Theriault.

Neil was a proud Acadian who enjoyed getting together with family and friends He accomplished many things throughout his life and was known for volunteering his time to help others. He loved making maple syrup and digging for bar clams in the summer.  He will be greatly missed by all!

Neil leaves to mourn, his partner, Shirley Swinamer; daughter, Alvina (Kimber); son, Lucien (Rose); grandson, Stefan; step-granddaughters, Alexandria and Jane; sister, Rosalie (Raymond); and several nieces and nephews.

Neil was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Leola; his wife, Aline; and siblings, Desire, Gerald, Denis, Agnes, Anne-Marie, and Eileen.

A Memorial Mass for Neil will the held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 123 Pleasant Street, Bridgewater, at 2pm, Thursday April 3, 2025. A private family interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery on St. Phillip’s Street. All are welcome to a reception in the church hall following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Neil’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
