





Obituary of Diane Paulette Zwicker
ZWICKER, Diane Paulette – Age 80, Pine Grove, formerly of Wileville, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with her family by her side. Born March 17, 1945, in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Albert Victor and Verlie Louise (Veinotte) Barry.
Diane had a unique gift for seeing the beauty in everything, especially in nature. She found great joy in tending her gardens and mowing her lawn, always surrounded by the flowers she adored. Diane cherished the Zwicker homestead in Wileville and took great pride in decorating it for her favourite holiday, Christmas, as well as other special occasions. She found happiness in time spent with her family and friends at her cabin on Wallace Lake, often sharing her beloved coleslaw recipe at special gatherings. Diane also had a lifelong love for Collie dogs, having many throughout the years, and was most recently devoted to her former faithful companion, Forrest.
Diane was co-owner of Len’s Plumbing and Heating and the Mr. Plumber Store in Wileville, working alongside her husband Leonard as the office administrator and bookkeeper. In her earlier years, she worked for the former Crescent Financial Services in Bridgewater. Diane’s faith was her salvation, and was a dedicated member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, member of the Anglican Church Altar Guild and often helped with the Anglican Church Women’s Group (ACW).
Family meant the world to Diane, as she treasured every moment and connection. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed, by her daughters, Holly (Patrick) Sweeny, and Stephanie (Donnie) Woodsworth, all of Pine Grove; her grandchildren, Amanda Sweeny-Rose (Jason Rose), Hatchet Lake; Jeremy (Ashley) Sweeny, Bridgewater; Reegan Woodsworth and Kiptyn Woodsworth both of Pine Grove; great-grandsons, Brendan Rose and Owen Sweeny; her brother Richard’s children, Steven (Tracy) Barry, Wayne (Patrice) Barry, both of Ontario, many other nieces, nephews, special cousins, friends and neighbours.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Leonard “Lennie” Zwicker in 2002; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Ada) Barry.
By personal request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Diane’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 78 Alexandra Avenue, Bridgewater officiated by Rev. Simon Davies and Rev. Frances Boutilier. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, South Shore Regional Hospital, The Rose Fund or a charity of your choice.
