Obituary of Trudy Marilyn Blackwood

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our matriarch, Trudy Blackwood (nee Brown). Trudy passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

Trudy was predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Shirley; her brother Derek, and her son, Sean.

Beloved wife of Bruce, cherished mother of Shannon (Mike) and devoted Nanny to Alex and Sami, who were the apples of her eye.

Left to mourn her passing are her brothers, David (Marion) and Stephen (Christiane), and her sister-in-law, Gail (the late John). She will be greatly missed by her aunt, Judy and uncle, Barry; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Mau), Kristofer (Sharon), Jessie (David), and Christopher (Amanda), her great nieces and nephews, her friends Tammy, Jim, Terry, and Keith, and all her fellow firefighters.

Trudy spent the last eighteen years as an integral part of the Conquerall Bank Fire Department as a medical first responder and a leader of the firefighter rehab team. She loved being a part of such a strong department, and being able to help this amazing community meant the world to her.

Trudy’s energy and spirit were felt by everyone, from her loved ones to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Heaven has truly gained an angel, spread your wings, fly high and soar. We will miss you for eternity.

By request, there will be no services held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Conquerall Bank Fire Department.
