Dear Carole & family:
Remembering fondly, Earl, as my Clerk of Session at Wesley United Church. I treasure the wooden praying hands that he had brought back from Egypt and gave to me upon my departure from Saint Andrews in 1993. He was a solid churchman and a good friend to us.
Both Linda and I send you all our condolences.
Sincerely,
Trent Cleveland-Thompson

I still remember Julie and Earl arriving at our place on the SMT bus late in the morning and going out to the road with them to hail the bus back to town at 3 o’clock. He was about four years old and a going concern! They happened to be visiting us the day our first fridge arrived - such excitement for all. Great memories.

Dear Carole & Family
Our heartfelt condolence to you in Earl's passing. Earl, Ralph J., and I became lifelong friends and comrades way back in July 1960 when we started basic training at the Black Watch Depot, then on to the Signal Corp school Kingston Ont. for trades training, then on to our first posting to NB Signals Squadron (Camp Gagetown Detachment). We roomed together at all locations, raised some hell together, and laughed and had fun together. We were all of 17/18 years old. So many good memories!
How I remember him anxiously awaiting a week-end off so he could go home and visit with you. Indeed he loved his family.
Earl was a good man, good soldier and comrade. I shall miss his presence, but never forget him.
God Bless Earl, You, and your family
Bob & Anne Shupe

Dear Carole and family,
Barry and I are so sad for your incredible loss. In our hearts Earl will always be remembered for his smile, his kindness and genuine caring. We were friends that lived "across the pond" called Newfoundland and made our home in Bridgewater for 5 years. Carole and Earl welcomed us immediately into their friend circle. Well actually they treated us as family. Earl was so attentive. Always listening and showed a genuine interest in YOU. A humble gentle man with a big heart. Although we have returned to Newfoundland, Carole know we never forgot you. We share your tears and memories. Our prayers and thoughts are for you and your family. Earl is at peace with His heavenly Father.
Much love, Cathy and Barry Gibbons ❤️❤️

I grew up in St. Andrews with both Earl and Carol but moved away just before my final year in High School and lost track of them until a couple of decades ago when Karen and I found them in Northfield. Since then we have visited them many times and had a lot of fun reminiscing about our early years in St. Andrews. Our deepest condolences to Carol and the rest of his extended family. He willbe greatly missed.

Donna and I wish to send our Deepest Sympathy to Earl's family - the CFB CAZP mentioned in his Obit should read CFS Carp, Ontario. That is where I met Earl and another MCpl Bob Freeman. The three of us were promoted to Sgt while at Carp. Earl was a fine soldier and tradesman.
God Bless
