My heartfelt sympathy, Peter, to you snd your family. I worked with Walter at Coast Guard. He was the kindest, smartest, most considerate person’. He treated everyone with utmost respect. We always exchanged Christmas cards, and even after Carol passed, he continued to tell us about his family, He was so proud of you.
May he rest in peace. May his memory be a blessing.

I met Walter in the late 80’s as a co-worker. Walter was highly knowledgeable , intelligent ,and had the ability to condense a complicated issue into laymen’s words. I often used Walter as my ‘sounding board ‘ and mentor over the years we worked together.
I had the great pleasure of keeping in touch with him and Carol since retirement and had the opportunity to visit them in Bridgewater and him since Carol passed.
He was a great friend. My sincere condolences to Peter and family. May he Rest in Peace.

Walter was a beloved, well known neighbour to all of us on Hillside Drive. Our kids loved visits with Walter and Carol and they always spoiled them with special treats at Halloween. I also still have and use a nice Christmas apron that Carol gave me one year.
On Hillside, we always drove past Walter sitting out in his driveway catching the sun’s rays. He had a big wave, a huge heart and a special story telling ability. He will surely be missed by us all!
Give Carol a big hug for us Walter!❤️
Bernadette, Mike and kids.

I met Walter first when he worked for my Dad at the CCG. I ended up working there as well and always enjoyed talking to Walter whether it was work related or a social chat.
My sincere condolences to all the family.

Walter was a sweet man. I worked with Walter over the years at CCG. Very pleasant, great sense of humour and always smiling. In more recent years we visited him at his home in Bridgewater and shared many lovely conversations over lunches and dinners, always exchanged Christmas cards and talked to him on his 90th Birthday in August. Rest in peace Walter. Sincere condolences to Peter and family.

Deeply sorry to hear of Walter’s passing. He was a great workmate and friend to many. I spent many a time with him talking over projects and our experiences . One goes through life and meets some wonderful people , Walter was definitely in this category.

I knew Walter from Canadian Coastguard days . Always smiling and with a pleasant word or two.
Although I never worked closely with Walter I know he was held in high regard by those he had contacted with every day. I see you will forever rest in Newfoundland soil. Sincere condolences to all his family. Rest in Heavenly Peace Walter.

Met Walter over the partitions in the office at Parsmount Place. Always a pleasure to talk to, never a cross word and I still have the briefcase he “lent” me. Rest in Peace Walter, and my sincere condolences to his family.

I met Walter in the 1970s when he became my supervisor at the Canadian Coast Guard. Over the years on several occasions when he moved into another job I was fortunate enough to follow in his footsteps. Many times I had to take advantage of his vast knowledge of construction and never was he too busy. Not only was he my mentor he was also my friend.
Linda got to visit him last summer on a trip to Nova Scotia.
I can still hear him say "Gerald, come in and sit down and give me one of your Soperisms". Godspeed my friend.

Very sorry to hear the news of Walter's passing. I have been friends with Peter for years, and met his dad for the first time when a bunch of us grads from Memorial University of Newfoundland were in Florida on our graduation trip at the same time as Peter and his family. He met me at their hotel room door with a cold Miller Genuine Draft in his hand, and said with a twinkle in his eye "You look like you would enjoy this".
I continued to stop and visit Peter and his family in Topsail after I had moved to Central NL, and when they moved to Nova Scotia, we attended Peter and Jan's wedding, and sat with Peter's Mom and Dad at the wedding and had a wonderful evening. Was very sad to hear the news of Peter's mom a few years ago, and again sad to hear this news of Walter. Our sincerest condolences to Peter and Jan.

Our sincere condolences to Peter and Family for your loss. May all the good times you shared with Walter help comfort you during this difficult time. Walter was a wonderful neighbour who always had a big smile and a wave every time he seen us. My wife quite often would take him a treat of a piece of cake or pie and in season would take him strawberries or blueberries, which he truly loved. That was always followed up by great conversation. You are now with your beautiful wife Carol. Rest in peace dear friend.
