Obituary of James "Jim" Lloyd Finigan
Finigan, James “Jim” Lloyd - It is with great sadness we announce Jim’s passing on March 29, 2025, at home in Bridgewater, in the loving arms of his daughter-in-law Linda, encircled by son Alex, step-granddaughter Angie, and a loving care worker. He is predeceased by wife, Judith; parents, Evelyn and Bradford; siblings, Bradford, Patricia, Michael and Brenda. He is survived by daughter, Rosemary and son-in-law, Chris Stanislow; granddaughter, Ceilidh Stanislow (Tyler Cloutier) and great-granddaughter, Isabelle Cloutier; son, Alex and daughter-in-law, Linda; step grandchildren, Angie Zinck and Chad Veinotte; siblings, Phillip (Sharyl Mann), Linda (Dom Picault), Larry (Minda) and Nancy; many nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Freeport, Nova Scotia. His father moved the family to the valley, where Jim lived until he was seventeen and began his working career in the bank in Bear River, Nova Scotia. He moved his wife and two young children to Bridgewater to begin his forty-plus years with his new employer, Silvers Garage Ltd as office manager, bookkeeper and later, a partner. Jim was a long time member of Bridgwater RCL Branch #24.
Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed a variety of sports, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the camp in Rossignol. In the last five years of his life his love was golf, which he played with his son Alex at every opportunity.
Jim suffered a massive heart attack in November 2024 from which there was no recovery. He fought a courageous battle until the very end. If determination and desire were the cure, he would still be with us.
Special thanks to brother, Phil and sister, Linda for the phone calls and texts. They meant so much to him. Angie, for all the love, support, and many visits with “Little Dog” that always brightened his day. Chad, for the daily phone calls. Neighbor, Ruth Kaulback for the homemade soups and treats. Thank you will never be enough to express our gratitude to his amazing care team – Driver/Skunker, Laundry Lady, The Little Blonde, Donut Lady, and Maud, as Jim referred to them. Your care, love, and support made his last months the very best they could have been. You will always be Jim’s angels.
