Obituary of Theresa Anne Sapp

SAPP, Theresa Anne (nee Sampson)July 17, 1952 – April 24, 2025

Theresa passed away peacefully at the South Shore Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Melan; her son, Anthony, his wife, Jackie and grandchildren, Gabriel and Quinton; and son Cameron and his partner Kristian. She was blessed with an adoring family of 9 brothers and sisters: Richard, Gerald, Diane, Shirley, Lorraine, Anita, Roy, Paul and Marlene, all of whom were there together with Melan’s sister, Andrea, to see her off.

Theresa was a multitalented, lifelong learner: an accomplished acrylic pouring artist, an avid gardener and a prolific crocheter. She loved to play golf with Melan and looked forward to their Friday afternoon ‘9 and dine’. She traveled extensively worldwide, visiting Spain, Portugal, the Baltic States, Sri Lanka, London, the Caribbean, Hawaii, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, New York, Washington, Seattle and every province of Canada. She looked forward to her cooking shows, Jeopardy, and Wheel, where she regularly solved the word puzzle long before the contestants.

Throughout her life, Theresa formed everlasting friendships across the country, from Vancouver to Ottawa to throughout Nova Scotia and forged deep, meaningful connections with her family. Theresa’s partnership with Melan was exemplary: sometimes yin and yang, yet somehow also in sync and always devoted in their unwavering love and support for their family and friends. She was extremely proud of her boys and the men they have become. She instilled within them her values of integrity, generosity, and humility and their resulting accomplishments never ceased to amaze her. Gabriel and Quinton were the lights of her life. She got a big kick out of building Lego sets with Gabriel and digging ‘taters’ with Quinton.

Although she will be painfully missed by many, her kind spirit will live on in all of whom she touched throughout her life.

Donations in Theresa’s memory may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital Cancer Treatment Centre.
