Obituary of Daurine Ida Rafuse
RAFUSE, Daurine Ida – Age 86, passed away peacefully at home in Martin’s Point, Lunenburg Co., on Friday, April 25, 2025. Born May 2, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Harden and Ruby (Vaughn) Walker.
She married the love of her life, Donald Royden Rafuse on July 16, 1960, and was a faithful and dedicated wife, sister, aunt and friend. Her door was always open, and you never left her home without a full belly or a reason why you weren’t eating. She loved a good game of crazy eights, (where she was Queen), kitchen parties with music, Frenchy shopping and trips to the Valley for Chinese food.
Daurine faced her disease with strength and determination. She had her small army of girls who never missed a day and tried to help her make each day count. She was truly an inspiration, and we will miss her immensely.
Surviving is her twin sister, Pauline Sawler, Martin’s Point, and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald and a sister, Nellie Zwicker.
