Obituary of Lela Marcella Bollivar

Lela, of Halifax, formerly of Middlewood, at the age of 93, passed away in the evening of Friday, May 16, 2025, at The Stratford, West Bedford.

She was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Lillian (Weagle) Bollivar, formerly of Middlewood, Lunenburg Co, and loving wife of the late Gordon MacDonald, formerly of Halifax.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Muriel Sarty (Calvin), Anne McInnis (Ralph), Celia Bollivar (Leonard); also, brothers, Alonzo Bollivar (Bea), Ivan Bollivar (Olive), Burton Bollivar (Marie), Judson Bollivar (Doris), Merle and Frank.

A special thanks to the staff of Evan Hall, Parkland and The Stratford for their excellent care and compassion shown to Lela.  It was her home for many years.

Lela’s personal request was for a family visitation only, to take place from 12:30 p.m., to 2 p.m., Friday, May 23 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.
