Bob had as many build-it or fix-it skills as he had stories to tell. And yes, he was either quiet, or …. not. At some point, I realized that many of his tales included a different skill, like when he was a baker.
I called him “Steady Bob”. He didn’t rush, complain, boast, or criticize. He just got things done, many things. Aside from all the creative reno’s and repairs he did for so many of us, he managed to pull off the impossible - a surprise 65th birthday trip to Barbados for Esther, someone not easily fooled.
Steady Bob navigated through his last chapter with the courage I hope to have when my turn comes.
