Obituary of Yvonne Lee Zwicker
ZWICKER, Yvonne Lee – Age 80, Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born December 16, 1944, in Simpsons Corner, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Jessie Ellen (Silver) Turner.
In Yvonne’s earlier years, she was employed as a cleaner at the former, Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater, until she became a mother of two sons, at which time she stayed home to take care of the household. It wasn’t until later years, that Yvonne became a respite care worker, where she spent countless hours with her clients while they were in their home. Yvonne had a big heart, always willing to help anyone; she was a volunteer in her community as a canvasser for many groups, organizations and charities, a task that she enjoyed because she got to visit the people of her community. As a past-time, Yvonne loved to color by crayon or colored pencil.
Yvonne is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving is her son, Stephen Zwicker, Simpsons Corner; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Bernard Zwicker and her son James Edward Zwicker; a sister and two brothers.
Public visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 highway 10, New Germany. A private interment will take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Simpsons Corner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
