Obituary of David Arthur Jones

JONES, David Arthur – Age 84, of Bridgewater. Passed away on August 15, 2025, at Ridgewood Assisted Living, Bridgewater. He was the son of the late, William and Swantina Jones.

David was originally born in India, and then raised in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he grew up alongside his twin sister, Dorothy, and older sisters, Olwen and Mary. In the early 1960s, he immigrated to Canada and settled in Waterdown, Ontario, where he went on to a career in healthcare. He became a registered nurse and later served as the Head of the Intravenous Unit at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, in Burlington, ON, for many years. His dedication to his profession left a lasting impact on both colleagues and patients alike.

Beyond his work, he was a man of many passions. He loved sailing and even built his own sailboat in the 1980s, which he joyfully took out with his family on Oxtongue Lake, in the Muskoka region of Ontario. Music was another lifelong love; he was an active member of his church choir and often delighted audiences with live performances.

He was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, always ready with a clever remark or a lighthearted joke. David also had a deep love for trivia, relishing the chance to share interesting facts or test the knowledge of friends and family in good fun.

He is survived by his three children, Melissa (Ian), Geoff (Andrea), and Ryan (Beth), who will carry forward his memory.
