Obituary of Richard William Sarty

It with great sorrow we announce the sudden death of Richard William Sarty on July 20, 2025.

Richard is survived by his brother Dwayne Sarty; niece, Samantha Sarty; as well as many foster brothers and sisters. 

Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard William Sarty; mother Elizabeth Ferguson; grandparents, Ira and Muriel Sarty; and foster parents, Billy and Edna Dorey.

Richard loved the sea and fishing at sea.  He was a kind and generous soul. Richard liked the solidarity of the woods, he liked hunting and loved to fry scallops that he helped catch.

Cremation has taken place, and some ashes will be put out to sea, and then Richard will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield next to his brother, father and grandparents.

A graveside service will be held September 20, 2025, at 1 pm at Maple Grove cemetery in West Northfield.
