Obituary of Blaine Robert Duffy

DUFFY, Blaine Robert – Age 77, Elmwood, Lunenburg Co., died peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born September 22, 1947, in Meaford, Ontario, he was a son of the late Joseph John and Rosina Blanche (Hillis) Duffy.

Surviving are his beloved partner in life and adventure of 35 years, Deborah ‘Debbie’ Robinson-Duffy, and their two children, Robert Duffy (Kiele), Iqaluit, Nunavut, and Nicole Duffy (Kevin), Akulivik, Que.; the mother of his eldest children, Nancy Duffy, and their children, Heather (Jeff) Row, Brampton, Ont., and Adam Duffy, Halifax; sisters Joanne Duffy Boomer and Patricia Holmes, both of Owen Sound; brother Mike Duffy (Kathy), Barrie, Ont.; grandchildren Oscar, Finley, Colby, and Juliet; his beloved dog, Lucy, who rarely left his side; as well as many nieces and nephews. Blaine was predeceased by his eldest sister, Mary Lou Waller (Brian) of Owen Sound.

Blaine Duffy was, at his core, a lifetime adventurer. From Sauble Beach, to the French River to the northern Arctic, he was happiest with a fishing rod in his hand and making memories to tell for years to come. He sought out experiences that most would only dream of, living a life full of stories that matched his bold spirit. His love for adventure was matched only by his gift for lighting up a room. To his family, he was more than a father, partner, brother, and grandfather; he was our compass, our storyteller, and our greatest source of strength. Blaine leaves behind a legacy very much reflected in his children, who each embody a piece of his spirit.

His story does not end here. We take comfort in knowing he has set out on his next great adventure.

By personal request, there will be no formal memorial service. No flowers, please. Donations may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital Chemotherapy Unit.
