News of Elliott’s passing brought back fond memories of a sage gentleman that had a deep love for God and a deep love for people. When I lived in Bridgewater, Elliott and Shirley were like a second set of parents to me. Neil’s friends were always welcome there. I remember his intelligent, thoughtful conversations. He liked a good chuckle and uplifted many with his cheery ways and humble heart. A lifelong learner, he has graduated with honours and a special crown. Praying for His comfort and peace upon you Shirley, Neil, Leanne, Breagh, Ashlynn Mae and Kaylee Jo.

Dear Shirley and family. Please except our deepest condolences for the loss of your dear husband. We all moved here to Drumlin Hills around the same time. We actually met Elliott on the main floor in one of the common areas for the first time. Always had a smile and would chat with us. We also would see Elliott walking during winter months at times at the LCLC.
You will carry many beautiful memories of your life together as those can never fade away.
We will also miss seeing him sitting out on the balcony. He is in very good hands with the Lord now.

Dear Shirley, Neil & family,
Please accept our deepest condolences as you grieve the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and so much more. It was just last Sunday that Elliott seemed so elated knowing son Neil would again be returning home to visit. Elliott seemed in great spirits and very happy!
Throughout the time we have known Elliott he always appeared most engaging and glad to share thoughts on many topics. It was always a joy to be in his presence.
Elliott always prided himself on being the most senior member of the Bridgewater Baptist Church. On occasion he would ask if indeed he was still the oldest active member. The answer was always "YES"!
We already miss him lots,..but know he is now in a better place with our LORD and SAVIOR.
Blessings,
David & Grace Rafuse

Elliott (Mr. MacKinnon) was one of the most inspirational figures of my youth. My friends and I looked up to him as a model of a godly man. He was always interested in whatever we were doing and extremely positive. I’m not sure that I ever heard him say anything negative, which is quite an amazing thing to be able to say. He lived a very interesting life, driven by curiosity and a passion for learning. He certainly passed those qualities along to Neil. I will be praying for Shirley and for Neil and the grandkids. Heaven is a little bit richer with Elliott’s passing and I look forward to the day when I hear his cheery voice again.

It was an extreme pleasure to have been in Elliot's presence over the past number of years as fellow tenants at Drumlin Hills. We shared many wonderful moments together filled with stories that he could tell so well and loved to share. We will miss him dearly.
