Obituary of Vonnie William Simpson
SIMPSON, Vonnie William – Age 85, of Stanley Section, Lunenburg Co., died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Queen’s Manor, Liverpool, where he had been residing.
Born in New Germany, he was a son of the late Claude and Daisy (Veinot) Simpson.
Vonnie lived the simple life on his hobby farm with his love, Maxine. He Enjoyed farming, gardening and deer hunting; he could be seen practically skipping through the woods searching for the big one.
He spent his later years with his great grandchildren, teaching them his way of life in hopes they would live the same simple life.
His favorite pastime was quiet evenings with Maxine who was always by his side whether it was working alongside or just keeping him company.
Friends were very important to Vonnie as he loved visits with Aubrey and Ronna, and adventures with Nancy and Garnett and laughter filled reunions with Hughie and Darlene.
Surviving is his daughter, Kimberly Simpson, Bridgewater; grandson, Matthew (Amanda) Weagle, Stanley Section; great-grandchildren, Grayson Weagle and Abigail Weagle, both of Stanley Section.
Vonnie’s working career was with the custodial department, having worked many years at New Germany Rural High School.
His siblings, Sonny Simpson, Juanita Simpson, Susanna Conrad, Donna Daniels, Dale Deamond, Sheila Hubley; and many brother’s and sister’s in-law and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, she was predeceased by his wife, Maxine Marilyn (Colp) Simpson; his son, Tracy Simpson; brothers, David and Danny; sisters, Anna Simpson, Diane Veinot, Sandra Simpson, and infant brother, Lemert.
There will be no services held. No flowers please, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Queen’s Manor Recreation Department.
