Eric was a great person to work with and loved helping the other representatives succeed, with his great ideas and advice. He was one of our more diligent workers and it showed with how well his customers were looked after and how much everyone missed Eric if he was ever not at a meeting, which was seldom. He enjoyed working and even though I lost touch with many in NS, the past few years, I'm sure Eric kept busy for as long as he could. He was always a contributor! All the best to Mary and the kids. Eric excelled with having a great family, as well. I'm sure he looked back on his life with great satisfaction and few regrets. Something all of us hope to achieve.
I saved some Eric and Mary trip pics but don't have any on me since I'm not in my usual spot, right now.

I enjoyed talking with Eric over the years with dad when we came across the street for a yarn, or Eric came across the street to talk with mom and dad.

Mr. Oickle was an instructor of mine at Community College. A finer man you'd be hard pressed to meet. He was always kind and encouraging, a true caring educator. That was way back in 1989, and I've never forgotten him. He will be missed. My sincere condolences.

I have many fond memories of shared times together when we were transitioning students from PVEC to NSCC.
He was always willing to assist a student who might be struggling or help find just the right course for a student who was undecided.
A gentleman, who was considerate and kind to those who met.

Our sincere condolences to Mary, Victoria, Patti, Scott, and family. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
We met Eric in 2001 when we moved in next door. He had many questions then about our ability to maintain our property, and while I could never get our lawn to look as great as his, I surely tried. Eric was as always forthcoming with advice and guidance that might help, which I always appreciated, and took me under his wing.
When our kids were very young, they always enjoyed talking with “Mr. Oickle” while they were playing in our backyard and he was busy doing outside chores. He always got them laughing with a silly face and a smile, and the joy in his eyes when he spoke to them was so evident. They loved every minute of it, and I think he did too. It was so very kind and they just loved him - we are grateful for those days.
Although this time is difficult, we hope you take comfort in the good times, and all the joys in Eric’s life. He will
always be in our thoughts, and we were glad to know him. May he rest in peace.

I would occasionally see Eric in the dining room when I volunteered at Hillside Pines. He brought tears to my eyes the morning Mary arrived and he kissed her hand. Their love was so pure. He looked at me at times with quiet eyes, but I always knew there was quite a story behind those eyes. After reading this, I understand. Many condolences to his family, especially Mary.
