Obituary of Virginia Beatrice Dunn

DUNN, Virginia Beatrice – Age 91, of River John, Pictou Co., formerly of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Mushaboom, she was a daughter of the late Ollie Kenneth and Amelia Delora Mae (Boutilier) Power.

Loving mother, cherished sister, valued friend, she is survived by her daughter, Debbie Dunn, River John; son, Peter Dunn, Upper Cornwall; grandchildren, Melissa Algarra, Josh Dunn, Amelia Dunn and William Dunn; great-grandson, Rylan Algarra; her sisters, Lila Popke, Eastern Passage; Olga (Wayne) Beno, Waverley; Lida (Ken) Peck, Concord Township, Ohio; many nieces and nephews;  dear friends, Ivan Crossland and Paul and Bonita Dixon.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, William and later her companion, Fred Silver; sister, Lola Buchan; brother, Basil Power.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in 2026 and will be announced when details are finalized. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
