Obituary of Albert Rafuse
Rafuse, J. Albert – 85, of Bridgewater, died February 3rd, 2026, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born on September 20th, 1940, he was a son of the late James and Hazel (Ringer) Rafuse.
Albert was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and a mentor to many. He loved his family unconditionally, and his steady presence, kindness, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Albert believed deeply in the value of hard work and lived that belief every day. Throughout his life, he worked in many roles, including as a tractor-trailer driver, a foundry worker, a security guard, and in many other odd jobs. In every position, he approached his work with dedication, pride, and integrity.
When Albert wasn’t working, he was giving back to his community. He volunteered with Ground Search and Rescue, the Oakhill Fire Department, ringing bells at Christmas kettles with The Salvation Army, supported his church, and gave his time to several other community organizations. Helping others was simply part of who he was.
Albert also had a love for building and creating. He found great joy in constructing model planes and spending time in his shed, where his hands were always busy and his mind always at work. These moments reflected his patience, creativity, and pride in craftsmanship.
Above all, Albert will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his deep commitment to his community. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the values he passed down, and the love he shared so freely.
Left to mourn are his wife, Ella; daughter, Angela (Jason) Rafuse-Watts; sons, Robert (Brenda) Rafuse, and Tim Rafuse; grandchildren, Julissa Uitvlugt-Rafuse, Hannah Uitvlugt-Rafuse, Kaitlyn Rafuse, Justin Rafuse, Jacob Rafuse, and Rebecca Rafuse; Brenda Uitvlugt (mother of grandchildren); his sister, Irene; his brother, Harold; and many nieces and nephews.
