Obituary of Ivan Maynard Veinot

Veinot, Ivan Maynard - age 75, of Scarsdale, passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2026, at South Shore Regional Hospital after a nine-year battle with Parkinsons and Dementia. Born in Maplewood, he was the son of the late Maynard and Gertrude Veinot. He is survived by his wife of 55 yrs, Sharon Veinot (nee McKean); daughter, Heidi Simms (Larry), New Germany; son, Shawn Veinot (Andrea), Scarsdale; grandchildren, Grace Simms (Dion), Bayport, Colby Simms (Kate), New Germany, Taylor Wentzel (Colby), Upper Northfield, Riley Veinot (Amber), Conquerall Mills; great-grandchildren Ryker, Blaze, Sterling and Theo Wentzel of Upper Northfield, and Waylon Veinot of Conquerall Mills; sisters, June Rhodenhizer, Sharon Carver (Wade); sister-in law, Louise Veinot; many nieces and nephews.

 

Ivan was a hard-working man who spent many years in carpentry building houses before joining Michelin, where he worked for 31 years before his retirement. Upon retiring, he built a new home with the help of his family.

 

He was a founding member of the Central Nova ATV Club, he spent countless hours on the trails, repairing, building and enjoying the rides. Ivan made many friends through the numerous runs he participated in.

 

Ivan was a devoted family man, he loved hunting, camping, especially Bluegrass festivals, summer vacations, travelling, and many fishing trips with his family over the years. He always had a funny story to share and left behind many cherished memories. His love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was deep and enduring - he always brought a smile to those around him.

 

Ivan was predeceased by his parents; brother, Ralph Veinot; sisters, Miriam Rhodenhizer (Veinot), Sheila Uhlman (Veinot); grandson Charlie Veinot; brothers-in-law Mervin Rhodenizer and Merle Rhodenizer.

 

The family would like to thank the Dr's and nurses at SSRH for their excellent care of Dad through the process. We are beyond grateful for everything.

 

By personal request there will be no visitation and no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your choice of charity.
