Obituary of Michele Denise Thompson

It is with great sadness that the family of Michele Thompson announces her passing on June 9, 2026, at the South Shore Regional Hospital at the age of 64.  Michele was dealing with many health challenges these past few years, which she bravely managed.  She didn't complain about her challenges but would matter of factly say "it is what it is".

Michele was predeceased by her father, Richard Thompson.

Michele is lovingly remembered by her mother, Faye Thompson (Kehoe), Mahone Bay; sister, Cheryl Thompson, Halifax; brother, Kenneth Thompson (Lorilie), Woodstock, Ontario.  She was particularly proud of her nephew Charles Thompson.

Michele spent her working life with the Province of Nova Scotia, both in Halifax and in Bridgewater.

In retirement, Michele enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog Sophie.  She also spent a great deal of time and care to convert the basement in her home into a quilters paradise.  It was her happy place.

Michele's family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the staff of the QEII Health Sciences Centre and the South Shore Regional Hospital for the care they provided to her, especially during these last difficult months.

There will be no visitation or flowers. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Nova Scotia Health Renal Program through QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation.
