Dear Bonnie Lee, Betty Lou, and the whole Himmelman family, On behalf of United Way of Lunenburg County, our deepest condolences on the passing of your mother, Pauline. We had the privilege of counting Pauline among our founding members, and her early belief in this organization helped build something lasting. Because of the foundation she and others laid, United Way has been able to invest over $3 million in Lunenburg County, with $2 million of that going directly to programs supporting kids and youth — a cause she cared about deeply throughout her life. Pauline's life was one of remarkable service to this county, from her groundbreaking years on Municipal Council to her work with the school board, the hospital foundation, and Family and Children Services. She gave so much of herself to the place she called home, and United Way is proud to have been part of her legacy of care for local families. Please accept Susan's and my condolences, on Pauline's passing. She and we had a long history, first as her Pastor, through the 90's and as my co-membership, with her, on the Board of Family and Children's Services. After our call, to another parish, we sorta lost touch, until we returned, to the area, in 2010. We saw each other, occasionally, the last time, being at Mary Ann's passing.
