In Loving Memory of Shawn Fanning

August 12, 1953 – August 11, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Shawn Fanning.

Shawn was predeceased by his Father Gerald Wesley Bromwell Fanning, his Mother Palma Barbara Mailman and his Sister Susan Gale Fanning.

He worked proudly as a bosun in the oil transport industry aboard tanker ships. Throughout his life, he faced immense hardships and struggled through circumstances that often seemed impossible, but he continued despite staggering odds.

He was a charismatic man with a knack for making friends and touching the lives of those around him. He believed strongly in a traditional sense of right and wrong, and in treating people with respect and accepting them for who they were.

He was always willing to help a friend and was understanding of those going through difficult times.

He had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, horses, oxen, and cows.

He is survived by his daughter, Shawna, and his son, Wesley.

He will be remembered for his strength, his character, his love of animals, and the many people whose lives he touched.
