Obituary of Bertrand C. Wallace

Bertrand C. Wallace 93 of Bayside, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday 27 July 2013 in the QE2 Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Green Hill, New Brunswick he was the son of the late Benjamin and Lillian (McLellan) Wallace. Bert was a veteran of World War 2; he was awarded a life membership from the Royal Canadian Legion Herman J. Good, V.C. Branch No. 18 in Bathurst, NB and has since transferred to Branch 24 in Bridgewater, Bert was also a member of the Masons Acacia Lodge No. 39. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marjorie; daughters Christine (Garfield) Morrison, Dartmouth; Gillian (Scott Follows) Wallace, Kentville; Susan (Ralph) Wallace-Blais, Bayside; brother Robert (Patricia) Wallace, Mill Bay BC; grandchildren Jenna Kilfoil, Tristan Follows and Benjamin Wallace along with many nieces and nephews. Bert was predeceased by a son, David James Wallace; sisters Helen Lapraik, Jessie Walker; brother Neil Wallace. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Services and Legion Tribute will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday July 31 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Rev. Willis Ott and Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Donations in Bert’s memory may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater or the Lung Association. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
