Obituary of Olive Zwicker

Olive Irene Zwicker 86, Newcombville, Lunenburg County, passed away, Saturday, March 3, 2007 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with her family by her side. Born May 4, 1920 in Chelsea, she was a daughter of the late Owen S. and Charlotte “Lottie” (Slauenwhite) Crouse. Olive had been formerly employed as an accounting clerk for Acadia Gas Engines for over twenty-five years and later continued her career with Family and Children Services of Lunenburg County for seventeen years. She was a member of Bridgewater United Church, Bridgewater; a 4-H leader for 19 years and headed up the Christmas Daddies program for Lunenburg County for 20 years. During her retirement, Olive became an avid quilter, having made and donated over 100 quilts to family, friends and many non-profit organizations for fund-raisers and charity. Surviving are her daughter, Corrine (Ralph) Zinck, Newcombville; granddaughters, Charlotte (Alden) Raymundo, Lewisville, Tx; Diane (Kirk) Barry, Newcombville; twin great granddaughters, Anna Kay and Grace Diana Barry, Newcombville; sister, Rita Wilson, Whittier, Calif.; brothers, Owen C. Crouse, Shoreham Village, Chester; Norman (Dorothy) Crouse, Covina, Calif.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leaman Alonzo Zwicker; sisters, Mary Meisner, Elfreda in infancy; brother, Edgar Crouse. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Service 2 p.m., Wednesday in Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Private interment will follow in Newcombville Cemetery, Newcombville.
