Obituary of Jackie Mervyn Alexander

of Jackie Mervyn Alexander 74 of Bridgewater, passed away on March 17, 2008 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Richville, Ontario he was the son of the late Norm and Rita (Evringham) Alexander. Jackie served his country with the Royal Canadian Navy for more than 30 years and achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer 1st class. He was a member of the CPO’s Mess Halifax, the Masonic Lodge "John Albro Lodge 122" Bedford Nova Scotia and he also enjoyed golfing. He is survived by his loving wife Blanche (Isnor); son Blake (Judy), Bermuda; daughter Denise (Jeff) Sooley, Prospect Bay; 5 grandchildren Ben, Zackery, Kristin, Logan and Rena; 1 great grandchild Royce. Besides both of his parents Jackie was predeceased by his son Darryl; sister Muriel Ann and brother Norman. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday, 22 March in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Robert Coote officiating. Burial will be at a later date at sea. A reception will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall, Alexandra Ave. Bridgewater after the service. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to The Kidney Foundation, The Diabetes Association or the charity of you choice.
