Obituary of Marion McDonald

Marion Rosemary McDonald 66, Hemford Forest, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at her home, after a courageous five year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving husband of 48 years, Joseph (Lorne); children, Rod; Debbie Kaizer, both of Halifax area; Lyle, Ontario; three grandchildren, Michelle, Lalanya, Rod Jr., all of Halifax. Born in Nanicoke, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Osborne and Alice Rhora. Surviving are sisters, Esther McKlintock, Alice Doan, Lorna Barnhart, Donna Quinn and special niece, Sandra Doan, all of Ontario; as well as many nieces, nephews and close loving friends. Marion was well loved and a respected member of her community and local organizations. She loved bingo, bowling, penny auctions, cooking large dinners for family and friends and known for her love, hugs and compassion for others; but most of all she was known for her love of all animals, especially, dogs and cats, whom in turned loved her. Cremation has taken place, no visitation at the funeral home by request. Keeping with her wishes a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. No flowers by request, donations in her memory may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, Bridgewater.
