Obituary of Doris Edith Branton
BRANTON, Doris Edith – Age 90, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater with her family by her side. Born on November 7, 1926 in Western Shore, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Audrey (Sawler) Richardson.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her partner of 39 years, Ernie McCauley, Bridgewater; daughters, Irene (Donnie) Power, Malay Falls; Shirley (Ken) McCormack, Chester Grant; Judy (Bill) Venator, Ottawa; sons, Cyril Branton, Chester Grant; Edward “Butch” (Leona) Branton, Martins River; Robert Branton, Ottawa; Rodney Branton, Alberta; 19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son in infancy; sister, Minnie Manual; brothers, Basil and Blake; granddaughter, Jennifer Long and her two daughters.
No visitation at the funeral home by request. Public graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 29 in Western Shore Cemetery, Western Shore. Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
