Obituary of Lyman Wilton Cook

Lyman Wilton Cook 66, Bridgetown, formerly of Lower Branch, Lunenburg County, passed away on January 18, 2009 at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, NS. Born in Lower Branch July 17, 1942, he was the son of the late A. LeRoy and Vera C. (Conrad) Cook, Lower Branch. He worked most of his life with Bowater Mersey, St. Margaret’s Bay until he retired. He is survived by his common-law spouse Sylvia Rice, Bridgetown, NS; children, Kimberly Whynot, Wileville (Raymond Whynot), Danesville; Greg (Patricia), Midville Branch; Derek Rice, Bridgetown; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Fern (Ivan Conrad) Upper Branch; Cheryl (Wayne MacKay)Upper Northfield; Susan, Carleton; brothers, Merle, Lower Branch; Carleton (Pauline) Lower Branch; Carroll (Janet), Crouses Settlement; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandchild. In keeping with our dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. No flowers by request.
