Obituary of Elsie Mae Maughan

Elsie Mae Maughan 76, Lower Branch, Lunenburg County, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg with her family by her side. Born in Maplewood, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nina (Wentzell) Veinot. She was wife and business partner of Walter Maughan of Maughan’s Construction, Lower Branch. Surviving are her husband, Walter; daughters, Anna Maughan (Pat Burke), Hebbville; Gail Maughan (Laurie Beck), Lower Branch; sons, Vernon (Monica) Maughan, Dayspring; one of Bridgewater, one of Branch LaHave; sisters, Ruby Ferguson, East Dalhousie; Lois Turner, Forties; Jean Webber, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Tyler Drennan, Nicole Brown (Darren Mulock), Rachel Brown, Colby Maughan, Erin Maughan (Ryan Dobson), Cory Maughan; three other grandsons; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Gordon; grandson, Glen; sisters, Annie Joudrey, Ruth Meisner, Irene Collicutt, Susie Dauphinee; brother, Maynard Veinot. Visitation for family and friends, 7-9 p.m., Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater and where funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, with special family friend Rev. Willis Ott officiating.
