Obituary of Minnie Doris Hirtle

HIRTLE, Minnie Doris – Age 86, Dublin Shore, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay, where she had been residing. Born November 5, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Foster and Susan Olivia (Smith) Corkum. Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Hirtle, Dublin Shore; son, Bill Hirtle (Yvonne Crouse), Auburndale; grandchildren, Nancy (Jimmy) Rose, Yellowknife, N.W.T.; Sam Hill, Halifax; Kate Hill (Chris), Hammonds Plains; great-grandchildren, Hunter Knee, Sophie Rose; sisters, Shirley Cleversey, West LaHave, Margaret Crouse, Hebbville, Ruth Wile, Auburndale; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall Freeman Hirtle; sisters, Annie Connolly, Muriel Minnick; brother, Ralph Corkum; grandson, Jamie Hirtle. Visitation 7-9 p.m., Wednesday with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., Thursday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or Mahone Nursing Home.
