Commemorating 100 years of Dedicated Service

We are appreciative to have been providing professional services, guidance and assistance to families who are in need during the most difficult event in life, since 1917. Since the time that the Sweeny family opened the door to their home on Phoenix Street to the families needing them during a loss, it has become tradition that 51 Phoenix Street be the hub of the funeral home and the central location when planning and discussing funeral arrangements. Still today, when marking this one hundred years of service, we recognize how the once owned Sweeny family living room, which has been recently up-dated and pleasantly decorated,  continues to serve today as the main arrangement office. This space boasts of all the characteristics of the old style Victorian home with the high ceilings, wide baseboards and the large fireplace.

As we move forward into 2018, we have recognized that accessibility and practicality is important, while not to alter the level of service that our communities have grown to appreciate. Over the past 4 months, we have been renovating and updating our chapel facility, located at 35 York Street. This location is also very familiar with families and the community as this is where visitations and funeral services have been held since the mid 1980's, when the Sweeny's purchased this building to expand their chapel facilities. This chapel facility and building will soon be the site of the new arrangement office. Once these renovations are completed, the original Sweeny family home will be retired from the company and all public space and requirements will be located all under one roof, at the chapel location. 35 York Street will then become the new public facility, where accessibility is easy, as all public space will be on the main level. We have carried on the same Victorian charm while updating these facilities. The newly designed and spacious reception and arrangement offices will be bright and comfortable, while the upstairs level of the building will serve as the private workspace and offices for the licensed staff. During this renovation, we have introduced some of the newest modern technology, which we were unable to do while working in the former office space on Phoenix Street as the older buildings would not allow.

We appreciate your patience while we are under construction, however, we are working hard to improve the facilities as quickly as possible.
