IT'S OFFICIAL ... WE'VE MOVED

35 York Street is our new all inclusive public facility

Commemorating 100 years of Dedicated Service

We are appreciative to have been providing professional services, guidance and assistance to families who are in need during the most difficult event in life, since 1917. Since the time that the Sweeny family opened the door to their home on Phoenix Street to the families needing them during a loss, it was tradition that 51 Phoenix Street be the hub of the funeral home and the central location when planning and discussing funeral arrangements.

As we moved into 2018, we recognized that accessibility and practicality is important but at the same time, we did not want to compromise the level of service that our communities have grown to appreciate. Over the past 6 months, we have been renovating and updating our chapel facility, located at 35 York Street. This location is also very familiar with families and the community as this is where visitations and funeral services have been held since the mid 1980's, when the Sweeny's purchased this building to expand their chapel facilities.

This building now serves as our fully functioning funeral home facility which contains all the public facilities. We have carried on the same Victorian charm with a touch of contemporary flare, while updating these facilities; with the newly designed and spacious arrangement office, clergy office, business office,  casket and urn selections as well as private office space for the licensed staff in the upper level - ARE ALL UNDER ONE ROOF! These renovations have been completed while making sure that all public space is accessible with no steps or ramps.

Our Commitment to You

When you need help and guidance during a loss in your family, you'll find the staff at Sweeny's Funeral Homes to be compassionate and responsive to your needs.  At a time when emotions can make it difficult to deal with all the issues you're facing, you will have peace of mind that our licensed and support staff strive on completing every detail with professionalism, respect and dignity.

As a locally owned, private company, we take pride in the personalized services we're able to offer to those families of which we are honoured to assist. Whether you've planned in detail or find yourself unprepared, with chapels in Bridgewater and New Germany, we stand ready to be your source of help.

Please feel free to browse our pages to learn more about pre-planning a funeral and grief support, as well as the traditional funeral and cremation services that we have to offer.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at anytime, we are available by phone or e-mail, or drop by the office in person.  We are always here to help.

We understand that it is not always possible to attend a service or visitation in person, so we encourage you to use our beautifully designed interactive online tributes to pay your respects. Leave a condolence, share a memory, light a candle and more!

Thank you for visiting us on-line.
