Covid-19 Pandemic Guidelines & Information

Covid-19 has created a new way of doing things for most of us. It is unfortunate that this pandemic has temporarily taken away               how families, friends and communities as a whole can grieve the loss of a loved one.

We are not able to do what we want and need to do under the current restrictions. We are unable to hold any format of public visitations or receptions at this time.

Some of our churches are able to meet the public health guidelines to accommodate a service with restricted numbers of attendees but this varies on location. Our chapel facilities are experiencing the same difficulties. What we can offer is a gathering of 15 (fifteen) immediate family members; however, we are able to provide on-line streaming for the other family members and community to gather "virtually".

Currently, the Public Health regulations permit, with no exceptions: 15 (fifteen) family members to attend a service in our chapel (with masks), or 250 people outdoors physically distanced (no masks) - plus one officiant.

Our professional staff of Directors will be able to explain these options in depth when meeting for arrangements.

Currently when entering our building, masks or protective coverings must be worn as well as respecting the 6' distancing requirements. Maximum number of family members for an arrangement conference is 4 (four).

Welcome to

C.F. Sweeny's Funeral Home Ltd.

35 York Street - our new, all inclusive public facility

Commemorating 103 years of Dedicated Service

We are appreciative to have been providing professional services, guidance and assistance to families who are in need during the most difficult event in life, since 1917.  As we move into a evolving society where needs and service requirements change, we want to make sure that Sweeny's Funeral Home continues to provide the service that our families have come to expect. We work with each family making sure that their wishes and desires are met and that we are able to give back to our families - memories to cherish - when it comes to their reflection back on the memorialization of their loved one.

As we strive to provide services that will benefit the families that call on our staff to assist them in a difficult time, we are very pleased to partner with Forget Me Not Ceremonies.  This is an on-line streaming service that will remove the worry, cost and concern about getting family members home with geographical challenges and will allow them to be part of the live service held locally.

The Value of Live Streaming

Live Streaming a memorial service is about uniting all who brought value to someone’s life. It allows people to pay their respects and show support regardless of life’s obstacles such as finances, travel, age, or health.

Live streaming can bring new moments to light and renew old memories as guests are encouraged to share their own photos and stories – which we keep and store for you.

From connections so small that no one knew about them to the closest connections of all, everyone should have the opportunity to pay respects to a lost loved one, a dear friend, a colleague, or an acquaintance.

To preserve the moments and memories, Forget Me Not Ceremonies will give you the opportunity to put all these treasures into a photobook … to keep and cherish. Please ask our knowledgeable Directors about this service and how we can make sure all your families and friends can be part of their event - virtually!
