Obituary of Alice Fern Durling

DURLING, Alice Fern – Age 81, of Barss Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Stanburne, she was a daughter of the late William and Opal (Carver) Joudrey.

Surviving are her daughters, Tina Durling (Mike Nelson), Barss Corner; Nita (B. Robert) Durling – Cullen, Bridgewater; Lois (Merle) Deal, West Dalhousie; grandson, Lance Wheeler; sisters, Estella DeLong, Barss Corner; Gladys Wentzell, New Germany; Beulah (Leigh) Dauphinee, West Northfield; Phyllis (Mervin) Ritcey, Baker Settlement; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Owen Durling; sisters, Joyce Oickle, Ruby Varner, Doris Neiley, Hilda Joudrey, Alma Daurie; brothers, Hudson, Garnet, Oakley and Tracy.

No visitation at the funeral home by request. A reception to celebrate Alice’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Friday, June 16 in Barss Corner Community Hall, Barss Corner. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to the family, Heart and Stroke Foundation or SHAID Tree Animal Shelter. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany.
