Obituary of Florence Madeline Boughen

BOUGHEN, Florence Madeline – Age 95, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Frederick John and Sadie Irene (Verge) Thornton.

Florence was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband James, who accompanied him on their many travels. She was a long-time member of Bridgewater Baptist Church and a member of the former Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are her daughter, Wenda (Ernest) O’Neill; son, James (Dorothy) Boughen; grandchildren, Jason Boughen, Jared (Shannon) Boughen, Ian O’Neill, Roxane O’Neill (Raymond); great-grandchildren, Joel, Jessica, Sadie, Jakob, Anwis, Madden, Nathaniel, Tristan, Sophie, Layne; sisters, Elva and Elnora; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, James Arthur; sisters, Ola, Irene; brothers, Frederick, Leonard, Ypres “Speed” and Dennis.

No visitation at the funeral home by request.

Interment of ashes for James and Florence will take place at 1 p.m., in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m., on Friday, August 25 in Ridgewood Assisted Living, 372 Aberdeen Road, Bridgewater with Rev. Paula Davidson officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
