Obituary of James Franklin Jordan

JORDAN, James Franklin - Age 62 of Barss Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.  Born in Halifax, he lived most of his life in Sackville, NS, with a sojourn in Goshen.Jim lived his life fully. Monetary and material things were not high on his list of importance, but his family and multitudes of lifelong friends were his joy. He could make a silk purse out of a sows ear as the saying goes, so he created many things from scraps and his own unique creativity, thus he hated to throw anything away in case it could be repurposed.  He was the original recycler. Jim was generous and giving, he shared his stories, his love of life, a good adventure and a good party.  He had only one enemy in his life, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and even this could not rob him of his infectious and generous spirit.Jim was the son of Mildred (Morash) Jordan, Barss Corner and the late Victor Jordan. He was predeceased by younger brother, Wesley (Sherry Armstrong).  Surviving are his son, Jason James Jordan; granddaughter, Brooklyn; sister, Cheryl (Terry DeBaie); nephews, Shawn and Shane Jordan; nieces, Alicia and Brianna Belliveau.  He is also mourned by too many friends to mention by name for fear of not including them all, but you know who you are and how very much he cared for you.Jim did not wish to have a funeral or memorial, saying instead, “I want people to remember me in our happiest moments, not in tears and sadness”.  As family, we are sure there will be an abundance of both and that he will be a presence in all our lives going on.A celebration of Jims live will be held 2p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 in the home of his sister at 107 Old Northwest Road, Lunenburg.  No flowers by request.  Donations may be made to S.H.A.I.D. Animal Shelter.  On-line donations and condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
