The Ryan Family,
Your father was always so soft spoken with a peaceful disposition. I can remember Tony talking about him with such pride - about the in-depth conversations they would have together. No doubt you will all move on with a special part of your father embedded in your minds and hearts. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I am thankful my father was able to make the case for Christianity.
I am reminded of
2 Timothy 4:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Rest in Peace Dad

Memories I have with Grandpa are cherished, kept close and thought of often My first fond memories as a child are with Grandpa. Hiking in the woods with Zulu,, shooting my first gun at the gun range and having a contest to see how long we could hold our breath in the pool(he couldn't be beat). Grandpa had a way of enjoying the small things in life, while always being present in the moment. We enjoyed driving with him and never got tired of hearing how long he could on the survive with all he had stored in his trunk. When calling him to discuss school, he would always send me books and articles on that subject. He was the smartest and the kindest grandfather one could ask for. I will miss you grandpa and will think of you always.

Deepest condolences to all who knew and loved this most amazing man, Bill Ryan. A gentleman, a scholar, and a fighter; a teacher to anyone wishing to learn; a man who cared about big things, but never lost sight of small joys. There was an innocence about Bill, and a genuine, unjaded wisdom that I will always appreciate and will never forget. He was the best.

Life and death are one, even as the river and sea are one
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity...
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and melt it into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb,
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
